About Richard Chandler
Multifaceted Experience
Mr. Chandler retired from the federal service after 35 years of military and civilian service; over 20 years as a senior leader and Senior Executive. Before retiring, he served 7 years as the Department of Veterans Affairs' Deputy Under Secretary for Management at the National Cemetery Administration (NCA). In this role, he was the senior advisor to political and other executive leaders across NCA and the VA on information technology, human capital management, contracting, construction, training, and other business support functions.
Previous to this role, he also served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary/Chief Financial Officer for IT Resource Management at the VA, Executive Director for Policy and Planning at the Department of Justice Office of the CIO, and CIO for the Executive office for Immigration Review. He also held several roles at the FBI, ICE, and INS.
